    3. Grrrrrrr --- ANOTHER "Reply" bounce. I'm re-sending as a new post - fingers crossed! Is this a Yahoo thing or a Rootsweb thing? It's not happening with the lists I belong to that are through YahooGroups and GoogleGroups. Back to my reply message: Thank you so much, Ursula, for that info. I presumed that was the case: "the last piece of 'home' the emigrant would see" so I went ahead and used it in the header of a family site I'm preparing. I'm pleased to hear it's true. The lighthouse represents the old German/Prussian homeland and Columbus Square in Cleveland represents the new homeland (though technically, they landed in Baltimore - artistic license). The figures are from a photo of my GPs - GF emigrated in 1891 (don't know when GM came). And the suitcase is the symbol of the migration. http://ewert7diaspora.wordpress.com/ --- On Thu, 4/14/11, Ursula <ubatrans@comcast.net> wrote: >...it doesn't matter whether you departed from Cuxhaven, Bremen/Bremerhaven, or >Hamburg, the lighthouse...was the last piece of 'home' the emigrant would see. > >Ursula
