Hi Ursula, I went to the Nuernberg index , and of course there are a lot of Fuchs entries, even just for 1864-1864. There are several without given names as well. Of note is that there are still over 33,000 [!] illegitimate births that have not yet been added into the index. Bavaria had a high rate of illegitimacy, due to very restrictive marriage laws.
