Hello John, what about the following: New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 about Chr Bollman Name: Chr Bollman ["Chr." = abbreviation for "Christian"] Arrival Date: 12 Jun 1857 Birth Year: abt 1837 Age: 20 Gender: Male Place of Origin: Veckenstedt Port of Departure: Southampton, England Destination: United States of America Port of Arrival: New York Port Arrival State: New York Port Arrival Country: United States Ship Name: Arago The place "Veckenstedt" is part of the German state "Sachsen-Anhalt" (= Saxony-Anhalt) which **always** was part of PRUSSIA. This Christian Bollmann came over alone - say without other family members on this ship. Plus a short search within LDS IGI index turned up "Bollmann" family from Veckenstedt. In case you want to have the image just let me know - it's my pleasure to send it to you directly. I also found a historic map of Prussia which I can provide to you directly if you like. My best, Vera
Vera: Thanks for the assist. While I suspect this is another Christian BOLLMANN, (sounds like the one that ended up in Ft Wayne Indiana), send me what you have and I can follow them once here and see if they end up in Highland Illinois. I like to collect all possibilities and then sort them out as I get more info... John, you're welcome. In the data I provided below I just forgot to mention that this ship "Arago" started its journey in Bremen, Germany. Other than that I found in the German-Passenger-Lists archives that you already have all of this since 2007. So I apologize for wasting your time, sorry. Regarding the map of PRUSSIA: you find it here http://echo.ec.funpic.de/webpages/Preussen_1866_.jpg Although this map primarily reflects **which territory was known as Prussia in 1866 (Prussia's border is displayed in red)" you can also see in it which areas were part of Prussia in 1815 (mid-blue color) and which areas became part of Prussia by being annexed between 1815 and 1866 (light blue color). Good luck with your further research, Vera Nagel -----Original Message----- From: germany-passenger-lists-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:germany-passenger-lists-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Galle, John L (AMSEC) Sent: Donnerstag, 10.
