The archivists are really very much willing to help and even open to provide research results by email. In case it is Quernheim: Are you aware that the LDS has microfilmed church books for Quernheim (1714-1961)? So depending on the time frame you could simply get these films on lease at your nearby FHC. I wrote to the Evangelical Church in Westphalia in 1999. They have a fax and phone number. I'm trying to find out if my GG Grandfather who immigrated to this country in 1881 and other family's GG grandfather who stayed in Germany are brothers or cousins. The one who stayed in Germany died fairly young so the son who immigrated did'nt know much about his father. Molkenbur in Westphalia is the family I am searching.
