    2. Sorry Jeff I knew where my gr grandparents were from as my grandmother was a 1st generation and that information was known. I had never been able to place exactly where the area was located and this Prussian map 1866 shows exactly where and I am thrilled to see that. If you don't have Ancestry go to your library and you may use their computer to get on Ancestry as well as Mormon church library. Good luck. Once I get ready to shut down today, I'll retry the site. 3. Hello Sue, I was wondering if you have the newest version of Microsoft Power Point. If so, that may be your trouble. I had problems with earlier versions of Power Point documents on the new version. If not, you might try clicking on "Deutschland" and when it asks if it should run or save the program, try save, and note where the file is. Then run it from the file on your computer instead of running it online. Can't hurt! I hope you are able to work this out. It is a very beautiful presentation! Gene Eugene M. 2. I may have found your family. If we keep in mind that Germans had multiple given names and that Florentine may have also been given the name Henriette; not all immigrants ended up living in their planned location; and birth years often varied from one document to another. If none of this fits, at least you will know where not to look. 3. Sure that's possible. There are quite a few known instances where manifests were damaged or lost altogether. I'm sure it was very easy for a sheet or few within a sheaf manifests to vanish. I'm sorry that the missing ones pertain to you. > ...I  looked at every page of the manifest itself.  I wonder if some of the  pages of the manifest got lost before being digitalized?

    3. Hello, Listees - Ursula-the-Superb has sent me Anton's definite 1930 Census sheet and an excellent candidate for Anton & Katerina's passenger manifest - the Koeln, arriving in Baltimore 9 Jul 1881,,,with baby Marie already on board! Marie's birth info came from her death certificate. I should have been suspicious since birth info errors occur time and again in the DCs of my Ewert / Evert / Everett family, also of Cleveland. Thank you, Ursula! --- On Thu, 3/17/11, juliasgenes <juliasgenes@yahoo.com> wrote: ...* Anton KAMIS ...* Katerina/Catherine/Katie DIVOKY. ...their first known child [Marie] was born 5 May 1881 in Cleveland...

    1. [G-P-L] Looking for Krueger on passenger list
    2. Mary Ann Dess
    3. I do not belong to Ancestry anymore because of the cost and have been unable to find my g grandparents as to when they came over. Their names are Frederick/Frederich Krueger and Florentine Bergmann Krueger or Kruger. Frederick was born in 1820 in Neiderzehren and Florentine in 1826 in Ottlau, Germany. Also can’t locate Emil Krueger, his son, born in Niederzehren in 1860 and his wife, Minnie Kornetski Krueger traveling together with an infant. Child may have died on the trip over. The traveled to Minnesota in the US. Their other son, my g grandfather immigrated in 1880 into Philadelphia. I have his record. So I am assuming I am looking for around this time period. I have found possible entries but none with both husband and wife. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. And thanks in a advance for any help. Mary

    3. I tried right clicking and chose 'open in new window' and it went on and on opening new tabs. When I closed that window, it opened tabs on the old window. When I closed my browser completely it tried opening a new browser. I had to shut down my computer completely to get rid of it. I guess I'll not see that presentation of Germany. 3. Hello, fans of immigration - Can someone with access to ancestry & some time on their hands please look for this couple for me? They aren't listed in Castle Garden's database. Just to be sure, I checked Ellis Island, too without finding them. I need Baltimore arrivals checked, if possible. >From Census documents and a death certificate, they are: * Anton KAMIS * Katerina/Catherine/Katie DIVOKY. Her parents are David DIVOKY & Katerina BINA; it's unclear if they ever emigrated; her siblings, if any, are unknown. Birth: * Anton - 1 Jun 1850, Suchdol, Czechoslovakia [other places given:Sughof, Bohemia; Aust-Bohemia, Austria] * Katerina - 26 Mar 1859, Suchdol, Czechoslovakia [other places given: Austria, Aust-Bohemia, Bohemia]. Arrival dates given for both: abt 1880, abt 1881, but since their first known child was born 5 May 1881 in Cleveland, that narrows it down. They MAY have been married when they came as a marriage of 20 years is claimed on the 1900 Census, but they could easily have married shortly after arrival, too. Lived in Cleveland. Known children: Marie (1881-1948) Joseph (1883-?) Anna (1886-1940) possible Unknown male (1887-?) Rosa (1887-1963) Agnes (1890-1961) Bertha (1893-1972) Lakie (abt 1894-?) James (1896-1978) [my aunt's husband - I already have a lot of info on him] Nettie (1898-1988) Antonie (1898-?) John (1903-1967) If someone sees their manifest(s) and a 1930 Census, I will be be grateful. (There are no 1930 Censuses on HeritageQuest.) Thanks and all the best, Julia
