    3. Hi There I am trying to locate th ship my great grandfather John MULLER emigrated on from Germany. He eventually settled in New Zealand but I am not sure which route the ship he was on would have taken to arrive in New Zealand or which port he would have departed from. He was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany c1837 and arrived in New Zealand c1856. Any help would be really appreciated as I am researching my family history and cannot find anything on this important branch of my family. Kind Regards Tracy (New Zealand)

    3. Thomas, My husband ancestors include man who immigrated from Germany in 1727 and lived in Heidelberg Twp., York, PA. The family later moved to Fredrick, MD, about 1758. The family was Brethren, and there was a Brethren community established in MD. There is a Brethren listserv on Rootsweb, and I have a few resources to suggest if you would like to explore this possibility. Contact me directly. 3. I've found a BOCK family that came over to the United states in 1731 on the ship Brittinnia of London out of Rotterdam. They had a son by the name of Hans Michael Bock, In 1731 he was one or two years old. I believe this family may have moved to Pa. When this Hans Michael Bock grew up I believe he may have had a son by the name of Michael Bock that was in the Rev. War and this Michael Bock was born in Fredricktown, Md. in 1757/1758 and this Michael Bock married a Margaret Crowser. What I need to know is was Hans Michael Bock the father of Michael Bock, is there any help out there for me, where do I look for the answers. I know that records were few and I hope that this family kept records with the church or with the courts. I think that this family may have been Lutheren, but I'm not sure of anything at this point. But you are getting your messages in 'plain text' mode and then this should not be the case.. Please send me a copy of a message and then I might be able to find out what is going on.. 3. If they were Catholic, it is very likely that the LDS Family History Center can order a microfilm of church record (or maybe other religions as well) which can be invaluable. At any rate they have a wealth of sources if you have not already tried them. It is open to people of all beliefs.....I was able to find an incredible amount of info on film in a very short time...with a lot of work!! 3. Hello Marge, It's not as simple as looking up an immigrant on the passenger list, especially since early arrivals never give a date of birth but only an approxiate age. I always want to check first where they settled after they came here, perhaps she followed another family member. No woman would up and leave her home country without knowing in advance where she was going to live after she got there. Perhaps you can provide some vital information such as: Is "Grün/Gruen" her maiden name? What reason do you have to believe that she came to Buffalo? Whom did she marry after she came here? Where did she live? Ursula Marge Ganser-Heibel wrote: > I have been unable to find any info re: Catharine Grun (umlat) /Gruen/Green's immigration. 3. Thanks for the reply: Grun was her maiden name. An assumption.....she joined her future husband, Simon Ganser (from Mettendorf also) who immigrated 26 April 1852.....Antwerp to New York aboard the Elizabeth Denison. She may have come with another family member but have not determined that. Her father's name was Peter Grun and there may be a brother by the same name. Simon's destination was Buffalo Erie NY and they lived in Clarence Erie near Buffalo after marriage 25 Oct 1856 at St. Mary's RC church in Swormville Erie NY and in 1869 moved to North Fork Delaware Iowa.
