I wish to know her exact birthdate and place of birth - also I am curious as to why and how these young girls went to South Africa. Grandson

    3. Thanks, Jerrald!! You're a treasure!! Conrad (1752) would be my gggg grandfather, the first in my father's line to come from Europe to America!! What sources did you use? I would like to get copies of documentation if possible. Also, I'd like to know the name of ship, dates & ports of departure & arrival, etc. I don't mind doing my own reseach if someone just points me in the right direction. I'd also like to learn about their lives in Magdenberg. (Maybe I'll be able to go their one day...) Any ideas? --- Jerrald Lloyd <jlloyd@chartermi.net> wrote: > Conrad Eudy--born 1752--Magdenberg > F.S.,Germany--died 1810 Montgonery, N.C. > Married --Elizabeth Hackey. > Children > Conrad--1781 > Henry----1784 > John--1787 > Catherine--1788 > William-- > David 1799 > > Jerrald Lloyd > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "B Kelly" <kellys_kreations2000@yahoo.com> > To: <GERMANY-PASSENGER-LISTS-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Thursday, October 12, 2006 8:35 PM > Subject: [G-P-L] EUDY/UHDE/OUDY/UTE... > > > > HI, > > MY NAME IS BRENDA EUDY (MAIDEN), AND I'M LOOKING > FOR > > THREE, MAYBE FOUR, BROTHERS WHO CAME TO AMERICA > FROM > > THE SAXONY AREA, POSSIBLY MADGEBURG, SOMETIME > BETWEEN > > 1760 AND 1790, PROBABLY THE EARLIER THAN LATER. > > > > THERE ARE MANY OTHER PERMUTATIONS TO THE SURNAME > > BESIDES THE ONES I'VE LISTED, BUT I BELIEVE THEY > WENT > > BY "UHDE" IN GERMANY. > > > > POSSIBLE FORENAMES ARE: > > > > CONRAD/KONRAD > > DANIEL BURNETTE/BARNHARDT > > GODFRYT/GOTTFRIED > > LORENZO/LAURENCE > > > > ALL I KNOW AT THIS POINT IS THAT THEY SETTLED > MAINLY > > IN MECKLENBERG COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, ALTHOUGH > THEY > > MAY HAVE ENTERED THROUGH A NORTHERN PORT, THEN > > MIGRATED. > > > > I'M AFRAID I DON'T KNOW YET THE NAME OF THEIR SHIP > OR > > PORT OF DEPARTURE. > > > > I'D GREATLY APPRECIATE BEING POINTED IN THE RIGHT > > DIRECTION!! > > > > BRENDA > > > > __________________________________________________ > > Do You Yahoo!? > > Tired of spam? 1. [G-P-L] RE Prussia, Maproom, Worms, & Hesse-Darmstadt
    2. I liked this too. It had a map of part of Germany (Rhine, Darmstadt, etc.) in 1862 which showed Worms as part of Hesse-Darmstadt. I never knew that. Some of my ancestors said they were from Worms and others Hesse-Darmstadt. They all came over about 1850. Could they have all been talking about the same thing? Where could find more information about the history of Worms and what countries/sates that it belonged to over time? -----Original Message----- From: germany-passenger-lists-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:germany-passenger-lists-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of DOROTHY MICHAEL Sent: Wednesday, October 18, 2006 3:56 PM To: germany-passenger-lists@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [G-P-L] Prussia Joyce, Try this site: http://www.files.maproom.org/00/12/present.php?m=0025<http://www.files.mapro om.org/00/12/present.php?m=0025> Happy hunting! 3. Hi Noreen; I didn't find anything likely in the Ancestry Immigration collection but I did find Arsen, "Harold", and a John who is related to Harold in both the Voter's Registration for Chicago (1888, 1890 & 1892), and in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 census' for Chicago. Although Harold & John preceded Arsen to Chicago by 5 years, they are of an age to have been his brothers. Hope this helps, cheers, Masugu. Chicago Voter Registration, 1888 (Read: Cong. My grandfather, Oswald Carl Buttig, in the 1920 United States Census listed his birth place as: Saxony (Kingdom State) {Sachsen (Kgr./Land in Bundesrepublik) Saxony (Kingdom?State); Deutschland} and his Father's Birth Place as: Saxony (Kingdom State). In some research on(www.flaggenlexikon.de/fdtprvsx.htm<http://www.flaggenlexikon.de/fdtprvsx.htm>), it stated that in 1816 - creation of the Province of Saxony from the following territories: .from the Kingdom of Saxony to Prussia ceded territories; . the Prussian territories Altmark and Magdeburg Town. The formerly to Mainz belonging possessions Erfurt Town and Eichsfeld. And, in 1944 partition of the Province of Saxony into the Provinces of Magdeburg and Halle-Merseburg, the Governmental District to Erfurt came to Thuringia. And in 1945, unification of the Provinces of Magdeburg and Hale-Merseburg, with the country Anhalt to the country Province of Saxony - Anhalt. I am still trying to find a map which would show the exact location of the Kingdom of Saxony in about 1816. Any ideas?
