    3. Minrod-Meinrad Mayer b. 21 Jan 1831 and Gertrude Mayer b. 17 Nov 1828. Minrod and Gertrud were married in Betra, Baden (Prussia) (now Baden-Wurttemberg) August 24 1854 . It was not unusual to wed after children were born. They had to have permission to marry. FAMILY of 10 came to America from Betra, Germany on the ship BoRussia May 7, 1866 (Books: Germans To America) and settled in Ottawa, LaSalle Co. IL. In Oct. 28, 1866 Seymore-Simon was born in LaSalle Co., IL. Child-Theresia? b. 27 Jul 1870. Was born & died in LaSalle Co., IL. After 1870 they moved to Rock Island, IL. There Minrod Edward was born May 6, 1872. When the family moved to Rock Island all records are Meyer and Edward later changed to Myers. BETRA Koeniglich (Royal) Preussisches (Prussia) O/a = Oberamt Haigerlock. In 1854 Betra belonged administratively to the city of Haigerlock. Oberamt is similar like a township. Haigerlock and the area around belonged to the dynasty Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. When that branch of the family died, the country came to the other branch of the family: the Hohenzollern-Prussen. Hohenzollern was like an Island in the middle of Wurttemberg. The village now belongs to 72160 Horb am Neckar. It is located about 45 miles South-west of Stuttgart.     3. Looking for Miller (mueller) Mathais (France) Schuh (shuh) Catherine (Bavaria) These two were my g-g grandparents. There is so little info available. Oral histories from long ago said that he (Mathais) was from France and Catherine was from Germany (Bavaria). Death Cert have been no help. They either came or met in Cinncinati and my great-grandmother Catherine Miller (Nunn) was born there in 1871. Death cert for son Edward shows John Miller. This is my biggest brick wall. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Catherine appears to have been Catholic. I was lucky enough to be contacted by the Broeker family in that area and they sent me 100 pages of the Broeker line I was seeking. WOW. That was like winning millions. HA.
