    3. Hi Wolf, First I want to Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into this site, I have been with it almost from the start and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. That said I would gladly give my mailing address, but I really don't want to post it on the list where it will be forever. How can I submit it? Also I would like to know how I can update the info in the database in regards to the folks I am looking for. I just went and checked my e-mail address, and it is current, but I also tried to up date my Deible info and got this message: "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '=3829' at line 1" Is there any way I can get around this so I can update the info there? Thanks for everything you do, Lori Deible Chaffin ----- Original Message ----- From: Wolf Zscheile<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> ; [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> ; [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> ; [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> ; GEN-EN<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2008 8:47 PM Subject: [G-P-L] It's a shame .. In my opinion, it would be a shame, when a researcher finds your data in our database and is unable to get in touch with you.. What a waste of time and energy and all your data is actually useless to anyone!! Therefore, I urge you, check the data in our database and make sure that your email address is up-to-date .. As of now, you can add as many email addresses as you want, if one doesn't work anymore, another one will work ( hopefully).. Or, the perfect solution would be to let us know your private mailing address.. ( hopefully you are not changing that very often).. 3. Thanks for asking, Charlotte.    August EWERT & Wilhelmine __?__ came 1899, from Prussia, we think. Brought their daughters Elisabeth & Aguste & their husbands & children. Brought their 2 youngest known sons, Herman & Otto.    They joined Julius (came in 1891) and August (came in 1892) in Cleveland.    Julius (my GF) went from EWERT ---> EVERETT about 1916 due to anti-German attitudes.    Two other guys changed their names to EVERT & EVERETT and I think one kept EWERT. Makes it so confusing!!!    I don't think we have any US relationships, but maybe back in Germany....Too bad - I love Rhode Island.     --- On Thu, 11/20/08, Charlotte Chase <[email protected]> wrote:   ....What Ewert names are you related to...    Charlotte Chase

    3. Good afternoon all (Well it's afternoon in Australia anyway) Sorry for the delay. I've been a bit busy with some family things. Reading an email sent to Wolf regarding whether the list will be just saxony surnames, should we look at using [email protected] if it is available or some other acceptable address? Let me know your thoughts. There was also a question of which spreadsheet to use but I think that has been resolved by putting the surname into the most appropriate sheet e.g. if there is just the surname and email address supplied then sheet one can be used. I am not sure if that causes problems when the spreadsheets are merged so Karen can you let us know please. If these two items can be answered quickly then I should be able to distribute the emails tonight. Let me know your thoughts. Ok, this probably makes more sense.. Actually, the name makes no difference, but it can be misleading.. > There was also a question of which spreadsheet to use but I think that > has been resolved by putting the surname into the most appropriate sheet > e.g. if there is just the surname and email address supplied then sheet > one can be used. I just noticed, that the email address is missing on sheet 2 , this could go in the first or second column. Or we could forget about the simple template completely and just use sheet 2.. > If these two items can be answered quickly then I should be able to > distribute the emails tonight. I would suggest, that we make a test run first with only a few names. This way we might find better ways or how to improve things.. Talk to you later, Wolf

    3. Hello Evi, Susan and Manaia, > How do I access the database? > I'm new to this list. > Evy > I would like to know too. > Susan > Me three! > Manaia Oh.. I feel bad about that... Do I really do such a bad job ?? Everyone should know the answer to this.. all the time.. Ok, just a little explanation.. several years ago I started "very low profile" with Saxonyroots, but couldn't imagine that this project takes off like a "rocket".. Now, all the time I am being asked, if the databases are only for Saxony.. Of course, they are NOT !! they are supposed to include ALL German speaking areas !! Therefore we are just changing everything to our new name of "Germanyroots", which has a better meaning of our goals and in addition, since many emigrants went to South America, we also added the Portuguese language.. Everything is not perfect yet, but take a look here: http://www.germanyroots.com and please let me know whenever you find any "boo-boo's" Once you are there, "click" on any of the tabs on the top to access our databases.. NB.. special message to our Brazil readers: Some of the phrases are probably still only in English, or sound strange to you in the Portuguese language.. PLEASE, help me to get the proper translation !! Thanks to all of you for listening. Have a nice afternoon, wherever you are, Wolf Zscheile Goodwater, Alabama, USA Assunto: International Ancestry research
