* The Pommerscher Verein Freistadt was founded in 1978 to preserve our Pomeranian heritage through the study of it's history, culture and language. German language classes, meetings, cultural celebrations and other gatherings are conducted at the historic schoolhouse building on Granville Road near the original Lutheran settlement village of Freistadt. Our library is also located in the schoolhouse, where the many accumulated books and reference materials that are so useful to genealogists and history buffs can be found. We can also suggest where you can direct your queries for translations of German text or script.
