Marie, I, too, was fortunate enough to find my immigrant in G2A books and wanted the manifest itself. Since you found your folks in the books, you must have found the ship's name and you have the date. Here is what you need to do at this point to get the manifest. Go to www.familysearch.org . Go under the Family History Center Library Catalog. (Use the Library tab at the top of the home page, then click on Family History Center Library Catalog, then film/fiche search. Enter 1415168 which is the film that covers 1883 (for other researchers, the films start at 1415143 and go to 1415169, you just need to find the right year in the list). You can then view the film notes to get the description. Also, there is another film that may be helpful. For May 25, 1883, look at film number 1027035. (for other researchers, there are 785 rolls of films, all arranged by date and name. If you enter this film number in the website, it will get you to the general area you need to be in and you can navigate from there to your specific date, etc.). I was able to find a chronological list of ships that came to New York, an alphabetical list of ships and an index of passenger names, all using LDS films. Good luck in your research! Lists were made as they got ON the ships as well. Hamburg passenger lists can be checked through the LDS Family History Center system. The lists of those sailing from Bremen no longer exist". ----------------------------------------------- My grandfather entered Castle Garden 25 May 1883 from Bremen - how do I find his entry to New York? I found him on a CD: "Germans to America" - but was hoping to be able to copy the Ship Manifest [consisting of 2 pages] which would provide me with more information than what I currently have; specifically - who was the family left in Germany, how much money he brought with him, who paid his passage, etc. <snip>
