Hello! I'm new to this site so hope I'm doing this correctly! I am trying to locate the village/town/city in Bavaria for the following family. I have searched every record that I can find in regards to this family including census, probate, vital, church,etc. and only come up with BAVARIA. Johann BIRLER b@ 1810 in Bavaria, died 1850 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., Wisconsin. Johann was a tailor in Milwaukee. Johann married Elisabeth MAYER/MEYER, b@ 1810 in Bavaria, approximately 1834. They had the following children: 1. Elise b. 1835 in Bavaria, married Philipp WOLF @ 1856, d. 1903 in Milwaukee. 2. Anna Rosa b@ 1837-8 in Bavaria, married Newton A. OLESON in Milwaukee in 1860, d. 1898 in Michigan. 3. Walpurga ( Mary) b@ 1839-40 in Bavaria, never married, d. 1917 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. 4. Joseph b@ 1841-2 in Bavaria, married Ella KNOBLE @ 1865 in ?, d. 1912 in Milwaukee. 5. Catherine b@ 1847 in Milwaukee, married Fred. William TREBBE in 1866 in Milwaukee, d. 1922 in Milwaukee. 6 & 7. Twins, John Peter & Theresa born 1850 and died 1850 in Milwaukee. Elisabeth MAYER/MEYER BIRLER then married Michael LACHER in 1851 in Milwaukee. Elisabeth and Michael had the following children: 1. John b. 1852 in Milwaukee, married Mary DUERR @ 1875, d. 1929 in Milwaukee. 2. Therese b. 1856 in Milwaukee, married William CASPER @??, d. 1934 in Milwaukee. Elisabeth MAYER/MEYER BIRLER LACHER died in 1879 in Milwaukee. This family came from Bavaria between the time that their son Joseph was born in 1841 and the time that they purchased land in 1847. Their religious affiliation was Catholic. I would appreciate any help, suggestions, etc. with this family. Perhaps someone else is searching this family? If so, please contact me. Dianne in Michigan
