The daughter of the late John E. and Henrietta (VanVonderon) Sager was born Aug. 21, 1916 at Coleman. She was married to John (Jack) Rock on Aug. 9, 1941 at the former St. John Catholic Church, Coleman. Ruth resided in Coleman her entire life. Her husband preceded her in death in May 1979. She was a former member of Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman. Surviving are five children, Jacqueline (Bernard) Kania of Everett, Wash.; James (Beverly) Rock of Brillion; John (Linda) Rock of Cary, N.C.; Judith (Rod) Nelson of Green Bay; and Joseph (Susan) Rock of Waukesha; 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild; three brothers, Paul Sager of Coleman; Joe (Alice) Sager of Janesville and George (Nancy) Sager of De Pere. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Friends may call at Ss. Francis & Wenceslaus Church, Coleman from 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002 until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at the church with burial in Forest Home Cemetery, Marinette. "Jack" Rock, 69, Coleman resident who died Monday, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church here. The Rev. Thomas Mayefske will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Marinette. The American Legion Post will conduct military rites at the church. Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be a parish wake service at 7:30. Mr. Rock was born Dec 9, 1910, at Milwaukee. He came to Pound at the age of 7. He was a 1929 graduate of Coleman High School. He was employed by the Seils Brothers Garage at Pound as a mechanic. He moved to Madison where he worked for Kayser Motors for about a year. In 1947, he formed a partnership with a brother-in-law, Paul Sager, in a business known as Northland Motors of Coleman. He retired in 1976. Mr. Rock was a veteran of World War II. He served with the Marines including action at Iwo Jima. He was a member of the American Legion Post, St. Francis Church, the Coleman Businessmen's Association, White Potato Lake Advancement Association, Klondike Sportsman's Club and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He married the former Ruth Sager, Aug 9, 1941, at the former St. John's Church here. She survives with three sons, James J. of Brillion, John P. of Milwaukee and Joseph M., a student at Fox Valley Technical Institute Appleton; two daughters, Mrs. Bernard Kania of Sussex and Mrs. Rodney Nelson of Green Bay. Also four sisters, Mrs. John Butzer of Mankato, Minn., Miss Alice Rock and Mrs. Thomas Kayes of Green Bay, and Miss Bernice Rock of Waukesha, and four grandchildren. More About JOHN B.
