I received the marriage license today for my grandparents John and Anna (nee SIEGEL) BECKER. It says John was born in Franzenhein, Prussia and Anna was born in Heinen, Silesia. If anyone could give me some indication where either or both of these places are, I would be delighted. Many thanks. Florence-- That all depends on what time period you're talking about. The boundaries of Prussia and other German states changed over time. Here is a list of map sites that may help: http://feefhs.org/maps/indexmap.html http://www.rootsweb.com/~wggerman/map/ http://www.genealogienetz.de/reg/rindex.htm http://www3.adnc.com/~lynnd/vupmap5.html http://thorin.adnc.com/~lynnd/vumap2.html It really helps a lot to learn about German history and geography to do genealogy in Germany. Hope this helps, Kathy alsstamp@netscape.net wrote: > > I received the marriage license today for my grandparents John and Anna (nee SIEGEL) BECKER.
