His parents were Georg Friederich HEDRICH and Maria Christine Wilhelmine SEIFERT (SIEVERT), both of Stanau GER. The family immigrated in 1852 with 5 children (Louis Frederich August b 2/5/1743, Maria Theresa b 8/23/1845, Ida b 8/14/1847, Franz Hermann b 12/21/1849, and Richard Oscar). Richard Oscar (my grandfather)married Sophia Eliese BRANDES 1/15/1879 in Rantoul WI. She was born 8/17/1858 in Wettmar GER. Their children were: Otto b 6/25/1880 Alma Augusta Elise b 6/6/1881 Anna Bertha Lilly b 12/26/1882 Emilie Auguste Magdelena b 4/28/1884 Helena Louis Ida b 11/19/1885 Sophie b 7/6/1888 Elsa Carolina b 6/28/1890 August Oscar b 6/13/1895 Harvey Louis b 8/11/1899 Eldred Edwin Albert b 9/16/1902 (my father) Most of them lived in Calumet Co.
