Emig. ca 1854 to Washington Co, WI. Married 1855 to Cunigunda Schuster (b1828 in Bavaria). Ca 1870 to Mitchell Co., IA where both died and are buried. Unfortunately have no siblings yet for Benedict nor precise locations in Germany for either family. There is another line of Faas that passes through WI to IA that follows similar paths but haven't connected to them. They end up in Iowa Co., IA. 3. I am looking for the ancestors of Frank Donsbach (Donsbock), who was born in Illinois in 1872. His parents "may" have been Edmond and Gertrude. On a 1930 Idaho census, Frank indicates that his father was from Wisconsin. I have another source that says his father was from Germany. Frank Donsbock was the 2nd husband of my great-grandmother. 1. [GERMANS-WI] ROCK, SCHINKE/SCHUNKEfrom Kreis Regenwalde Prussia circa 1874
    2. Patricia Wenham
    3. I am searching for HERMAN & WILHELMINE (nee SCHINKE/SCHUNKE) ROCK who emigrated from an area near Labes, Kreis Regenwalde, Prussia/Pommern about 1874 with their children, William, b. 1871 and Anna b. 1873. They came to Clintonville, Waupaca Co., WI prior to the birth of my grandfather Charles (Carl) on July 28, 1874. My grandfather's baptism certificate indicates that the God parents were Gustav and August ROCK and Emilie KLEMP geb. ROLOFF. The baptism took place in the German Lutheran church or meeting place in New London WI. HERMAN ROCK'S death certificate lists his parents as Carl and Christine Rock of Germany. Church records for William and Anna ROCK indicate they were baptized in Loepersdorf, Kreis Regenwalde which is now ZACHELMIE and is 5.2 km and 265 degrees from Labes which is now LOBES and is a part of Poland.

    1. [GERMANS-WI] A Reminder (again)
    2. Kathie Harrison
    3. I forgot to mention that I would like to remind you all to be sure and DELETE all but a small portion of the message you are replying to. Also DELETE the TAGLINES and SIGNATURE lines from your reply. If you are unsure how to do this properly please see the following site which explains it simply and easily. None of us want to see the same messages repeated over and over on the list, so please be considerate of your fellow list members and at the same time follow the list guidelines. "Quoting" is repeating text of the message you are replying to. Some quoting is necessary to remind other readers what the thread is about but do try to use good judgment. Quoting the previous writer's signature block or surname list is totally unnecessary as is an entire message. SNIP out the excess! If you are subscribed in "digest" form, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you DO NOT just hit the reply button when replying to a message in the digest. This will result in sending the entire digest back to the list. If this happens, I will be forced to CHANGE your subscription from digest to list mode. Instead, you will have to "cut and paste" your reply into a new message window and then send it to the list. If you are unsure how to do this, please contact me and I will help you with it. You can also find instructions on how to "cut and paste" at the following web site: Jayne's Cut and Paste http://members.aol.com/jaynecg/private/copy.html --- Thank you, Kathie - GERMANS-WI List Admin. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~irishrose/lists.html Need a new email address that people can remember Check out the new EudoraMail at http://www.eudoramail.com

    1. [GERMANS-WI] Raemisch/Ruel/Brigham Research
    2. I am researching the Raemischs of Dane County. Mine came to Springfield during the late 1800s, some still being in Dane County today. My Immigrant family was Franz (Frank) Raemisch (Roemisch) and his wife, Catharina Louise Ruel. I am a descendent through their son, Henry, who married Josephine Brigham, and their daughter Bertha, who married Frank Barron. If any one else is working on these families I would love to hear from you. I have many of the church records for Henry's family, but not their marriage records. I imagine those would be in Josephine's families church, but as of yet have not found them. Susan in Northern CA
