Harry P. Friday was my husband's grandfather. He was born in 1867 in WI and the 1910 Census shows his father from Germany/Poland and his mother from Germany. The 1930 Census shows them from Canada. I think they probably came to Canada first and because the the sensitivity in 1930, he told the Census taker they were from Canada originally. I would be looking for the surname Friday, Freitag or Piatec. I do not know his parents names and could not find Harry on the census (under Friday) until 1910 in Menominee County MI. I do know that in 1894 he married Flora C. Andrews, born in WI of parents from NY. Any information would be helpful.<< __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! 2. Dear DIGEST Subscribers, PLEASE remember to Change your SUBJECT line to reflect the message. Do not hit reply without making this change or I will have to change some of you to List mode and unsubscribe you from DIGEST. Also please everyone be more mindful and delete all but a SMALL portion of the previous message that you are replying to. We do not need to see LONG repeated messages with the taglines in every reply to the list. Better yet would be to begin a NEW E-mail and copy and paste a small portion of that previous post and then your own reply. With more than 370 list members now, we would not want to see a large number of these previous posts and many messages may get deleted instead. 2. Cammie, First, Norman and Oconto are not in the Milwaukee Diocese of the Catholic Church, they are in the Green bay Diocese which has not allowed the LDS to microfilm their records. Second, using the US census could help you a great deal. The 1880 census is easy to get at over the Internet: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_ census.asp Thirdly, use the county pages for Kewaunee County http://www.rootsweb.com/~wikewaun/ including cemetery inscriptions with SAGER Frank 1828 --1895 on same stone with Theresa 1830--1915. And Oconto County at http://www.rootsweb.com/~wioconto/ This one has the 1870 census for Oconto County, for instance. You are going to find a lot in a hurry!
