    1. [GERMANS-WI] BREY & GERSPACH
    2. Searching for information on the BREY families in Manitowoc history. Some given names are George, John, and Joseph. My great-grandfather Joseph moved to Marshfield with his family including my Grandpa Joseph. Joseph married my grandma Mary Caroline GERSPACH in Marshfield. At least one of Joseph Senior's brothers remained in Manitowoc. Grandma's father was Ferdinand GERSPACH. I would welcome any information about the families - where they came from in Germany, exactly when they came, were they naturalized, what ship they came on. If you know anything, let me know, and perhaps I might be able to help you a little.

I hope this isn't "off topic", but I noticed in Richard's post a number of references to Lutheran associations with his family and recalled a website that may be helpful for those of us with Lutheran family ties. It is http://www.thrivent.com/lutheransonline/genealogy/ . There are places on this site to post queries and your family tree as well. I hope it helps out many of you. This list does not do ROLL CALLS per se and I do not want to see ROLL CALL in the subject line and neither do many others who get large amounts of list mail that we filter. This list is large and tons of messages with that as the sole subject line is a no-no for the list. Thanks for your cooperation........ Rooting in the past, Kathie, List Admin.
