    1. Kinloch office
    2. I have come across the 1905 diary of my grandmother, Helena Gaul Weitz, who was born in St. Louis, MO, in 1880, and lived there until about 1912. She was married to William Weitz, in 1905, also born in St. Louis. In this diary, she occasionally mentions going downtown (St. Louis) and visiting in the Kimloch office. Could anyone please tell me what that might be and if it is still existing? Also, I recall my mother's telling me that my grandmother worked sometime before her marriage as a telephone operator. If so, would that possibly be the "Kimloch office"? Thank you in advance for any help. I will probably have other questions as I continue through the diary. Frances

    3. I suggest that the Kinloch suburb of St. Louis may have once had a telephone exchange. That is the most probable source of this reference. 3. Just re-read your message and realized that she went downtown to visit this office. In that case my interpretation would not make sense, as Kinloch is a suburb just north of the city.
