Hi Johnnie: Found no Wikenhausers. There was a H. Wickenhauser in Wood River who ran for a poitical posision 2 Mar 1934 as reported by the Edwardsville Intellingencer. John W. was mentioned in a real estate transaction in 1937. You didn't provide a time period but these are probably too late. Yours from the 1850s? Found a Wakenhauser. Tanks so much for your reply. Yes, The Wakenhauser you found from Shelbyville, Illinois marriage license is my great great grandfather. I'm trying to find his parents, he was born on the ship Hercules in 1836 or 37 and they settled in Highland area, I guess that would be Illinois or Missouri, he lived the first 19 years of his life in the Highland area.He was Joseph Wikenhauser although the name was spelled wrong on the marriage license, I think his father was Laurence Wikenhauser but know nothing on his mother. The Wickenhauser you found are probably my family , will have to dig deeper. I am searching from the 1850's.But Anything is appreciated.on that name or the different spellings.
