Jeff, Do you have a contact person for Bethany Cemetery in St. Louis? If so, I would appreciate having it. Also, does anyone have a contact with St. Paul's Cemetery or Zion Cemetery? I believe both of these were E&R Churches in north St. Louis. Thanks in advance. Lorraine

Based on the 1860 census, my gg-grandmother, Catherine Theresa REHL PETRY STEVENS, would be 49 years old in 1870. She was born in Bavaria, but I do not know the name of her village.
I am looking for information concerning Bernhard STEVENS. He married Catherine Theresa PETRY nee REHL in Millstadt, St Clair County, on January 19, 1865. She was a widow with three children: Peter, Theresa and John. Catherine and her children appear in the census of 1860 with her first husband Wilhelm PETRY. They were living in Millstadt, St Clair County, Illinois. Her sons, Peter and John appear in the census of 1880. They were living in DuQuoin, Illinois. I have found no further trace of Catherine or Theresa. I have been unable to find Bernhard STEVENS in any census. The Family should appear in the census of 1870, but I have been unable to find them. I thought they might have moved to St Louis, but did not find them there either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Joyce, Do you know where in Germany your Meier's were born? I have only a few Meyer/Mayer family members in St. Louis, all of whom are connected to the focus of my research and my brick wall, my Great Grandfather OTTO STECHER Juliana Stecher Mayer and Franz Joseph Mayer, both of Renchen, Baden, married in 1872, emigrated 1891, died 1903/1901 in St. Louis (St. Peter & St. Paul) One surviving son Otto. Victoria Maier/Meier Stecher, b. 1841, who married 1869-1870 Karl/Charles Stecher of Renchen, Baden. Died 1922/1921 in St. Louis, St. Peter & St. Paul; children: Henry Stecher (w: Margaret S Klaus), Emma Stecher, Pauline Stecher Held and Louise Stecher Remmler. Samuel Meyer, b. 1916, son of Clara Stecher; stepson of Rudolph Stecher, b. 1892/ 1898, (parents) buried Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. I realize this is a long shot, but would be very happy to help you in the slightest way. Happy Hunting. Hello, Listers, I was away for a few days and am surprised at the number of replies to my "beautiful downtown Affton" remark. I was only kidding when I signed that way! Our "downtown" runs one block wide and from the city limits to abt the Rock Hill/Tesson Ferry intersection which is 2 miles at the most. Nothing "big" in the area, just "mom & pop" stores. BTW, our Affton Days Parade will be held Sept. 18 along Gravois from Heege to Mackenzie Rd. The day's activities will be at the Affton Community Center at Reavis and Mackenzie Rds. Anyone in the area is welcome to come join in the fun!!! Bill, your mention of Parks Air College brought back memories. My uncle lived on 157 Upper Cahokia Rd. during the 40's. My cousins and I used to take walks in that area. Small world, isn't it! Lorraine
