    3. After the redirect the new URL will show up in your browser window. U can then take a new bookmark/favourite... and go from there. I'm surprised to learn that people would still go to the "motherpage" rather than the new URL. The minute a redirect is done, i make it my business to "record" and incorporate the new URL. That way i don't waste any time or resources, either here, or "there", eh! When a website is "unavailable" it is generally a good idea to try it somewhat later or for that matter find a work-around... For instance, googling for "Odessa Digital Library" will drop the following in your lap like a ripe plum: ""Odessa Digital Library The Odessa Digital Library is a searchable collection of digitized books, indices, and documents that supports research concerning the Germanic Russians. ... www.odessa3.org/ - "" See: www.google.ca/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=%22Odessa+Digital+Library%22&btnG=Goog le+Search&meta= ----- Original Message ----- From: "FISHER,JOY R" <jfisher@ucla.edu> To: <GR-GENEALOGY@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU> Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2004 8:33 PM Subject: Re: [GR-GENEALOGY] Odessa Library > Actually pixel.cs.vt.edu was NOT on-line last night, which was the reason > for my posting in the first place. > > I knew there was a re-direct, but didn't have the address of odessa. > > Quoting JM_on_GR_G <JM_on_GR_genealogy@telus.net>: > > > From: "Valerie Ingram" <val@pegasusmedia.com> > > > The "pixel" isn't the pixel anymore...it's now ODESSA3 !! > > > > > > Actually that is not at all correct!!! > > > > Roger Ehrich still has THE PIXEL website > > at http://pixel.cs.vt.edu > > which STILL contains a WORKING link > > to the DIGITAL LIBRARY! >
