Was : [GERmanRUSsian] Hey Heissler research information From: "Pius Waldman" : " ... (Stumpp has mistake says Geisler). ... " Pius, U make a good observation! It should be noted that the exchange of an "H" on a family name for a "G" is not at all uncommon in the circumstances where the name rubbed shoulders with the Russian empire... Names such as HUMMEL and HITLER became GUMMEL and GITLER as the Russians do not have the "H" sound... So the same clearly applies to GEISSLER... Researchers need to be alert to these types of transformations, as looking for the transform can provide additional information... See for instance: Gabershtro Gajzer Gejzer Gekenlepbe Gert Gefner Gejnle Gilldebrant Giltz Gofman and many many more on: www.odessa3.org/collections/war/link/repress.txt GAPPY NEW YEAR , GEY!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pius Waldman" <piuswaldman@LVNWORTH.COM> To: <GermanRussian-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 28, 2004 9:30 PM Subject: [GERmanRUSsian] Hey Heissler research information > Pius D Waldman piuswaldman@lvnworth.com > > > Most of the Heisler (Heissel or Heyzler) families came from the same > family at Neewiller Bas-Rhin area of France.
