Mauch passed away in Lodi after a short illness at a local hospital. Alvin was born March 31, 1911 in Goodrich, ND. He worked for Stokley-Van Camp as a cook room foreman from 1937 until his retirement in 1972. He came to Lodi in 1935 where he met his beloved wife, Ruth Hildenbrand. They were married on October 30, 1937 in Lodi. They were married 46 years until Ruth's passing in 1984. His mother and father, Gottlieb and Christine Mauch and daughter, Marlene Kooyman preceded him in death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was an usher for many years. Alvin resided in the Arbor Senior Apartments for the past 13 years. His very special friend, neighbor and companion for the past 10 years was Nellie Brown. He is survived by his son. Charles Mauch of Durham, CA; daughter-in-law, Kelly Mauch; daughter, Kathleen Mettler of Lodi; grandchildren Mike Kooyman and wife Gina of Acampo, Stacy Oliver and husband Mike of Wilton, and Scott Mettler and wife Patti of Fresno, Chris Mauch and Courtney Mauch of Sacramento, and Adam Mettler of Lodi; great-grand-children Ashlie, Alicia, Kaitlyn and Matthew Oliver, Jamison and Joshua Mettler, Bradi and Jori Kooyman, and Dannielle and K. C. Hargrove. There will be a graveside service on Friday, June 21, 2002 at 10:00 am at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Lane.
