Maybe someone can give me some direction on this. While some of the Rivinius clan went to Russia then to US, some also came directly to the US. Der Spiegel, Vol 11 No 1, January 2, 1957, p 14, written in Germany mentions "an American major by the name of Rivinius served as commander in Schongau in 1945." I sure would like to be able to track down which of the people in my tree is this major. Thanks for your ideas. Judy > >
Judy, U might want to check out: "" ... October 28, with Walter Rivinius as the speaker on his CCC and WW II Army experiances {sic} at 7:30 p.m. and the Chapter Christmas Party at the Royal Fork Restaurant on December 9 at 7:00 p.m. ... "" per www.grhs.com/redriver/ I had no idea what CCC was ... but it turns out to be the (Civilian Conservation Corp) Also i think Walt served in the Pacific... But he may be able to help out by providing additional info on Rivinius folks who were in the armed forces... Suggesting that a major Rivinius might be in "YOUR" tree may be like hoping for a lottery-win to happen.... There were & are quite a few Riviniuses... Including the ones who stayed or still are in Germany... Not all of 'em are "one tribe"... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judy Holter" <lholter@intergate.com> To: <GermanRussian-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 28, 2004 10:48 AM Subject: [GERmanRUSsian] OT Military Records > Maybe someone can give me some direction on this.
