Loveland newspaper Loveland, Colorado 01-06-02 Alfred W. Zwiebel Alfred William Zwiebel, 96, of Loveland, died Jan. 2, 2002, at North Shore Health Care Facility in Loveland. He was born Feb. 11, 1905, in Valley, Neb., to Otto George and Lucy Cobb Zwiebel. He graduated from high school in Stuart, Neb., and attended a trade school in St. Louis, Mo., to learn to paint for advertising. He married Marie Gillette on June 2, 1929, in O'Neill, Neb. He worked with Marshall Fields Department Store in Chicago and various other department stores. He was also in business with a partner in Kenison and Harlan, Iowa, with Farner Department Store. Mr. Zwiebel loved music and nature. He played the trumpet and had a dance band out of Valentine, Neb. He tried out for the Lawrence Welk Band. He owned a Dairy Kreme business in Glenwood Springs and served as county assessor there. He moved to Loveland from Valentine in 1970. He worked for Johnson Furniture Co. and Loom and Leather. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ward Three, a member of the Masonic Lodge AF&AM and El Jebel Shrine in Denison and Harlan. He is survived by his wife, Marie Zwiebel of Loveland; a daughter, LeaAnn Logsdon of Loveland; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Zwiebel, and a sister, Gertrude Jesperson. Viewing will be 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday, with viewing, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1445 W. 28th St., Loveland. Burial will be at Loveland Burial Park.
