    3. Greeley Tribune Greeley, Colorado 01-05-02 Mollie Hergert Mollie Hergert, 89, of Greeley, died Thursday, Jan. 3, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit. She was born June 27, 1912, to Christian J. and Mollie (Schott) Felte in Grimm, Russia. After her birth, her parents and their four children came to Windsor in January 1913. On Feb. 13, 1930, she married Henry Hergert at the home of Godfried and Eva Hergert near Greeley. He died April 11, 1981. She lived in the Windsor/Greeley area on a farm until August 2000, when she moved to the Life Care Center of Greeley. She graduated from Severance schools in the eighth grade and was active in girls sports. The Hergerts purchased their first farm in 1938. This farm and two others became the Hergert Land and Cattle Co., one of Weld County’s first cattle feeders to offer custom feeding. They traveled together and attended family sporting events. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, and sewing. Mrs. Hergert was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor, taught Sunday School for a number of years and was involved in the Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of Colorado Cowbelles and the Farm Bureau for more than 50 years. Survivors are a daughter, Shirley I. Polk of Littleton; two sons, Donald E. and Richard H. Hergert, both of Greeley; two sisters, Lydia Wiedeman and Frieda Klein, both of Greeley; two brothers, Jacob Felte of Lake Tahoe, Nev., and Henry Felte of Windsor; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. A son, Dean Hergert, died in February 2000; and four brothers, Alex, Fred, Carl and Paul Felte, all of whom lived in Windsor, are deceased. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith United Church of Christ. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Windsor. Friends may visit from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Adamson Memorial Windsor Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith United Church of Christ or Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado, both in care of Adamson Memorial Windsor Chapel, 429 Main St., Windsor, CO 80550.
