Hello everyone. I'm new and I've been looking for information on my great-grandparents. My great Grandmother was Marie Catherine Briggs (brick?). She was from the village of Laub. She was born 22 Dec. 1880 and died 10 June 1966. My great Grandfather was Adam Fleck (Flach) he was from the village of Jost. He was born in 1878 and died 29 Oct. 1927. They both lived in the village of Pobochnoye before immigrating to this country. They came here about 1913. My grandmother had told me that they came on the Czar to Ellis island. I've spend months at the Ellis island site and can't find anything about them. The family story is that the Flecks were very well off. My Great Grandfather came here first and then my great GrandMother with her mother in law and 4 children came with "staff" to help them. They traveled 1st class. I did find an Adam Flach who traveled Steerage in 1912 at the Ellis island site but it appears he wasn't allowed into the country because his name has a line drawn through it on the original ship manifest. They all finally settled in Sanger, Fresno CA. My grandmother had told me they grew grapes and had quite a bit of land. I cannot find any information anywhere to back any of this story up. If anyone on this list has any new ideas, please let me know. Or if anyone comes across these names I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! Cindy Johnson
