>From The Columbia Basin Herald, Moses Lake WA, January 7, 2004 Viola B. Fode Viola B. Fode, age 77, of Lind, Wash., passed away on Monday, January 5, 2004, at a Spokane hospital from compilations of a massive stroke. Viola B. Fode, the daughter of Michael and Zelemia Bohnet Winter was born June 14, 1926, at Irby Wash., near Odessa. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1945. Vi married Clarence Fode on August 29, 1948 and together they made their home on the farm four miles northeast of Lind. The true joys of her life were taking care of and cooking for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also an avid Seattle Mariners baseball fan. She is survived by: her husband of 55 years, Clarence at the family farm: two daughters, Cheryl Socci of Spokane, and Michelle Fode-Smith and husband, Tim of Lind; grandchildren, Lynnette Jones, Joel, Derek and Ashley Socci, Ron and Mike Ferderer, Lori St. Marie, Traven, Bridger and Camden Smith; eight great-grandchildren: two sisters, Esther Greenwalt of Ritzville and Dorothy Schafer of Spokane: and two brothers, Walt and Art Winter of Odessa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Lind Community Church, With Pastor Larry Coleman, officiating. Vault interment will follow at the Lind Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home, Ritzville, Wash., is in charge of funeral arrangements. Mrs. Fode will lie in state at the Danekas Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 from 2-5 up.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lind EMT Association, Box 373 Lind, WA 99341
