    3. Washington State 1910 Census Index The Washington State Genealogical Society recognized the need for an Every Name Index to Washington's 1910 Census. The call went out for volunteers to work on this project. There have been dozens of volunteers who have contributed many hours to make this index a reality. However, this is still a work in progress. There are only 2 counties left that need volunteers, Pierce & King. Several other counties are in progress and nearing completion. Please check the status of the counties at the WSGS website. As of 5 Jan 2004, the following 29 of 38 counties have been completed and are included in this index: New counties added in this update are marked in Bold. No part may be reproduced in any format for profit by any commercial entity, without the written permission of WSGS. If you have questions or corrections regarding the 1910 Washington census index, please contact Sue Ericksen. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note that our volunteers have made every effort to accurately read the handwriting of the many enumerators who produced the 1910 census. We welcome recommendations for correction, however, the fields in our index are an "extraction" from the actual microfilmed census pages, and we are constrained to input the data as it is written. Thus, where the enumerator has written Robbert instead of Robert, or entered middle initial J instead of G, that is how it will appear in our index. When we were unable to read an entry with any certainty, we used dashes to indicate the unreadable letters. If you are able to interpret the writing, and we concur with your interpretation, we will correct the entry. If you believe you know the correct name based on reliable information you have developed in your research of that family, we will gladly evaluate your information and make the appropriate correction. Such corrections will be noted with an asterisk. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- For questions and corrections regarding this web page, please contact Mike Sweeney. A special thanks to WSGS, Frank McLean, Sue Ericksen, and all the volunteers who made this site possible. URL for this page: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wagenweb/1910/index.html
