I am researching my maiden surname Moser. I am trying to track down my great, great grandfather Peter Moser, married to Charlotta Fuhrmann. I have been told by relatives that my grandfather Theodor was born in Rohrbach, So Russia in 1890. He was married to Clara Hoffman whose family was from Worms, So. Russia. Theodor's father was Johannes P. Moser born in 1865. My records say he was born in "Odessa". I don't know if this is literal or if it means the Odessa Colonies, i.e. also Rohrbach. Johannes P. was married to Christina Deutscher. I have heard of Ludwig Moser from Unterkirnach who was one of the founding father's of Rohrbach. There is a chance that one of Ludwig's sons, Frederick or Johannes are Peter's father. I can not find any censuses that confirm any link. I have Karl Stumpf's book, Emmigration from Germany to Russia" and have seen the 1809 and 1816 lists. I have also looked at the St. Petersburg Archives. There is a Peter Mosser born in the early 1840's in Rohrbach and a Charlotte Fuhrmann born in the early 1840's that may be my relatives but I have no way to confirm this from the data I've found.
