In keeping with earlier warnings, let me share with U the latest development on the BADTRANS front. McAfee has today* - WITHOUT EXPLANATION - added two more updates to its repertoire.... One to its ScanEngine ( SE ) and one to the DAT files...... Surprise , surprise, they can now** detect the BADTRANS.b virus! In my view it's been a MAJOR FAUX PAS on the part of McAfee to blame user for not updating often enough..... They published as late as yesterday that version 4171 of the DAT was sufficient! I e-mailed them on Sunday last already that their system was failing to recognize the latest variant of BADTRANS... Well today we have DAT 4173 as well as a new scan-engine.... And so far it appears they work for BADTRANS.b Pffft, finally!
