Otto SCHNAIBLE, 91, Java, S.D., died Aug. 31, 2001, in an Aberdeen, S.D., hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Java. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one son, Dean, Adrian, Minn.; four daughters, Beverly Buck, Bismarck, Peggy Erhart, Mandan, Barbara Goehring, Aberdeen, and Ruthanne Schnaible, Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Berthold, Selby, S.D., and Arnold, Lodi, Calif. Otto Schnaible was born Nov. 13, 1909, at Java, a son of Christian and Magdalena (Naasz) Schnaible. He grew up and attended school in Java along with his brothers, Berthold, Arnold and Traugot (deceased). Alos: The building that was north of the Otto Schnaible residence was the site of the Old Fire Hall. Years later it served as the Java City Hall, until 1941, when a new City Hall was built. Meetings of the Java Legion and Auxiliary were held in this building until a new structure was erected. The Java City Band, A.C. Schlepp, director, practiced on the 2nd floor on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
