    3. My guess would be that U are looking for BIRSULA... As to Treftz etc. etc. i bet U will have more luck with TREFZ There are a lotta records in the yODL files..; under the StPete Index. Go to http://pixel.cs.vt.edu/cgi-bin/isearch and search for TREF* < yes, with a trailing asterisk! > in the Data Category "St. Petersburg Archives". U may also want to do a search in the same category for BIRS* , that way U will see what records are available for BIRSULA < I have checked, and see NO TREF___ data at all there... > There is a lot of information available for the GLUeCKSTAL Kirchspiel < which includes Bergdorf > Johann is such a common first name, that U will likely need to have a name of a wife < if available > or else more parental information. Of course it would help if U had a<n approximate> date of birth for Johann... If U wish to search the Ellis Island Records on: http://www.ellisislandrecords.org/default.asp i would recommend searching for J TREFZ first... There are several hits... *** U can always look for just TREFZ as well of course... It appears that many TREFZs, who were Glueckstalers, came to the USA. Hope this helps, ;j. *** At present it appears that the way information can be shared, has been changed by the programmers at Ellis Island Records Org ... More on that next ... ----- Original Message ----- From: Lori & Stacy Sent: Sunday, November 18, 2001 7:21 PM Subject: questions Has anyone heard or come across any information on Johann Treftz (or Treftz)??
