Edward "Ed" Muller, 69, of Lodi, died July 31 in a local hospital of natural causes after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 13, 1932, in Gackle, N.D., where he was reared and graduated from high school. Mr. Muller came to Lodi in 1952, and was inducted into the U.S. Army. He was discharged in 1954 and returned to Lodi and married Adeline Janke on Aug. 12, 1955. He was employed by Spiekerman's, John Mansville, and Mason Packing. He was then employed as a utility operator by the City of Lodi for 27 years and retired in 1987. He was a member of the Lockeford VFW Post No. 9009, Lodi American Legion Post No. 22, the Lodi Order of Eagles Lodge No. 848, and the Lodi Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 634. He is survived by his wife, Adeline Muller of Lodi; children, Debra Muller and Barry Muller, both of Lodi; sister Emma Kundert of Lodi; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jake, Adolph and Art Muller.
