Leona L. Simpfenderfer, 85, of Woodland Hills and formerly of Lodi, died Sept. 24 at her residence of natural causes. She was born Leona Maas on May 13, 1916, in Parkston, S.D. She moved to Culver City around 1936. She married Fred Simpfenderfer and they resided in Glendale for many years. They moved to Lodi in 1977 and to Stockton in 1994. After her husband died she moved to Woodland Hills. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lodi. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Hall of Pacific Palisades; son, Neal Simpfenderfer of Sierra Madre; four granddaughters and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Simpfenderfer in 1996.
