Alma was born in October 1917 the daughter of Martin and Eva (Heyne) Koepplin of Elgin, North Dakota. She attended schools in Elgin and married Emil Ketterling in June 1946 at Elgin. Alma died at the Bismarck Hospital, on Friday morning October 5, 1968. The funeral services were held at 2:00pm Wednesday, October 9, 1968 in the Zion Lutheran Church of Elgin. The Rev. Eugene Ketterling conducted the funeral rites and burial was in the Zion Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Martel, Henry Martin, Ervin Dachtler, August G. Schock, Donald Edinger, and Richard Zimmerle. From: Grant County News October, 1968
