Loveland newspaper Loveland, Colorado 10-20-01 Ruby G. Shelley , 92, of Loveland, died Oct. 14, 2001, in Sheridan, Wyo. She was born Dec. 5, 1908, in Emerson, Iowa, to Walter and Bertha Navert Kellenbarger. She graduated from Red Oak High School in Red Oak, Iowa, in 1926. She attended Cedar Falls Teacher College and received her teacher's certificate in 1927. She married A. Dale Shelley on Feb. 21, 1935, in Rockport, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1974. They farmed in Emerson, Iowa, for many years and operated/owned Emerson Aerial Spray for 22 years. Mrs. Shelley was a homemaker and substitute teacher. She moved to Loveland in 1975 from Emerson. She was a 20-year volunteer at McKee Medical Center. She was a licensed pilot and was a former Iowa Flying Farmer Queen. She was a member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church. She loved doing crafts and traveling. She is survived by sons Robert Shelley and wife Donna of Sheridan, Wyo., Gary Shelley and wife Fran of Fort Collins, and James Shelley and wife Jean of Buffalo, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Darlene Straight; two sisters; and great-grandson Zach Shelley. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Kathleen H. Fox officiating. Burial will be Monday in Red Oak.
