NEW LEIPZIG -- Robert JACOBER, 80, New Leipzig, died Oct. 7, 2001, at Medcenter One in Bismarck. . Burial in Imanuel Cemetery, Elgin. Robert Jacober was born on his parents' farm north of New Leipzig on Dec. 31, 1920. His parents were Jacob and Katherina (Bertsch) Jacober. He grew up on the farm and received his education in a rural school. He was confirmed in the Old Stone Church. On Oct. 29, Robert was married to Freida Pastian at Burt. He worked as a farm hand for several years, and then for the Grant County Highway Department. He is survived by his wife, Freida; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary and Robert Vogel and Dar and Dale Helfrich, all of Mandan, and Char Jacober, Bismarck; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Christ, Washington, and Meinhardt, Ohio; and two sisters, Clara Miller, California, and Emily Ivery, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
