The other error which can be found is: When the person recording data thinks he/she has found a duplicate name with data. For years many members of my family have doubted my data on our Hein family of Borodino because of the researchers thinking three different Hein men were not three only one man. How could that occur? The person copying data found a Georg Hein b. 1807, then found another Georg Hein b. 1807 and then a third Georg Hein b. 1807. They eliminated two and mentioned only one Georg Hein. Along came another researcher. They found Georg Hein b. 1807 Dolkin, Po. and one Georg Hein b. 1807 Kulm, Po.. So they wrote Georg Hein b. 1807 Dolkin/ Kulm, Po. . Well, that all may seem quite logical. And, I can understand why the person recording did what he/she believed accurate. Unfortunately there were three different men name Georg Hein. All ended up in Borodino. One was born in Dolkin, another in Rudetz and the other Kulm. All born within the Kulm area of Poland. So, yes, looking at the original data can help you. Finding someone to read Polish records has never been accomplished by me. So, I continued to reply on memories of the elders of my family, instead of lumping all the Hein families of Borodino under one Georg Hein. It took more than twenty-five years to find data that shows the three Georg Hein men. All were married to more than one wife. Not all died in Borodino or even Russia. I must voice that I have tried very hard not to make these same mistakes but no one can be perfect. There are days a person misreads data, or the fingers don't strike the correct keys .... Sometimes, family data is recorded differently by members of the same family. So, nothing is absolute. So, don't stop looking around just because you think you have found a name that seems to be right..... Or, don't stop looking at data because the dates don't seem quite right...... Being a person who collects data and places them on the internet, I apologize for one and all errors. I try and so do the others to get all this right. remmick@aol.com http://www.remmick.org
