    3. The St.Pete Index can be found at: http://pixel.cs.vt.edu/library/search.html Then select the DATA CATEGORY "St. Petersburg Archives" That same page shows "HELP with Odessa queries " which leads to: http://pixel.cs.vt.edu/library/queryhelp.html That page may be a bit daunting for beginners, but U can always go back there after U have tried some simple searches... and then try some of the more involved ways of locating information. For old hands at the Odessa Library, i'd like to mention that the advanced options which are now there < version 3 > are well worth exploring... For instance for "my stuff" i would search for things like HUMMEL w/3 ROSENFELD and that will be a "combined" search... For details read http://pixel.cs.vt.edu/library/queryhelp.html Hope this helps... I went to the site you sent but I don't understand how to post a roll call. I get that I can post the family I am searching for and ask for help looking for them in Russia. But what else do I do other than go to that web site? I'm lost. I must say that I am new to the internet and all this. Are any of the St. Petersburg archives on line? Where are the best free sites to do research? You seem to know so much about all this. Thank you for any help you can give and I will keep rooting. Juleen
