First Name Glen Last Name Sauter Date Of Death 07/21/2001 Age 53 City Goodrich State ND GOODRICH -- Glen Sauter, 53, Goodrich, died July 21, 2001, in the Harvey hospital from injuries suffered while working on his car in Goodrich. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, Goodrich. Burial will be in the city cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 7:30 p.m. today at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky. Glen was born June 20, 1948, in Harvey, the son of Alvin and Ruth (Dockter) Sauter. He grew up on a farm near Goodrich. He attended rural school and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1966. He then attended Wahpeton State School of Science. Glen married Cheryl Lindquist on Dec. 14, 1968, at Cambridge, Minn. They lived in Cambridge. In April 1969 he entered the Army and served in Vietnam and in Texas. He was honorably discharged in 1971 and they moved to Dalbo, Minn. He worked at a John Deere dealership in Cambridge. They moved to Goodrich in 1977 and purchased Goodrich Machine. Glen continued to own and operate the business as Prairie Auto Parts. More recently they owned and operated the Double Vision Bar in Goodrich. He also drove truck and helped with the farming operation with Frueh Farms of Goodrich. Glen was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He served as the Goodrich mayor for 12 years, as member and secretary treasurer of the Goodrich Fire Department and as a member and past commander of the Albert Block American Legion Post No. 56. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Darin Frueh, Goodrich; one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Lisa, Bismarck; one grandson, Sheldon Freuh; his mother, Ruth, Goodrich; and one brother, Larry, Goodrich. He was preceded in death by his father in 1998.
