Note: Peter Gerk Jr. was the son of Peter Gerk who was from the Volga village of Marienfeld. Peter Gerk of Brownvale Peter Gerk Jr. Peter was born on October 4, 1928 in Compeer, Alta. and was a long-time resident of the Brownvale area where he farmed for over 40 years. In his passing he is lovingly remembered by his wife of over 50 years, Margaret, their children; Conrad (Ellen) Gerk of Grande Prairie, Wanda (Lanny) Brown, of Grande Prairie; Barbara (Ed) Dunn of Peace River, Sheldon (Carlene) Gerk of Grimshaw; nine grandchildren, numerous relatives and countless friends. This faithful and devoted family man quietly and willingly surrendered himself to the Lord on November 28, 2001, at the Q.E. II Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. All family and friends are welcome as we celebrate Peter's life in a Memorial Service to be held Saturday, December 8, 2001 in Grimshaw, Alta. in the Holy Family Church at 2 p.m. Fr.
