Loveland newspaper Loveland, Colorado 12-27-01 Joseph Bitterman, 88, of Loveland, died Dec. 21, 2001, at Sierra Vista Health Care Center in Loveland. He was born March 1, 1913, in Sutton, Neb., to Balthaser and Rosina Hoffman Bitterman. He married Bernice Meyer on Nov. 21, 1937, in Loveland. She preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 1999. Mr. Bitterman has lived in Loveland since 1937. He worked at the Great Western Sugar Company in Loveland for 11 years. He retired in 1977. He was a member of the Reformed Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening and being with his grandson. Mr. Bitterman is survived by a sister, Sophie Troutman and husband Lawrence of Sutton, Neb.; a grandson, Shaun Bitterman of Loveland; in-laws, Marvin and Winifred Meyer, Wilma and Robert Boyer and Faye Meyer; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Marlin Bitterman, six brothers and three sisters. Viewing will be held 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Allnutt-Hunter Chapel. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Allnutt-Hunter Chapel. Burial will be in Loveland Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph Bitterman fund in care of Allnutt-Hunter Chapel.
