    3. I believe you may find that you are dealing with Mennonites here. Although there were also GR here who didn't manage to get to NorthAmerica directly , but went via SouthAmerica first. However Mennonites moved in rather large groups: an article by Edward Reimer Brandt in the Fall 1993 ASHGR Journal has a good review of Mennonite Migrations. We're getting a bit off base though here, as this isn't really a direct GENEALOGY subject.
