    3. > I am looking for info. on Friedrich SPRECHER, b. 1818 in Leipzig, Bess. > when, where, and parents? The information U want is [ II ] : OK based on the limited availability of senior SPRECHERs in Bessarabia, we would have to say that FRIEDRICH's parents are: Gottleib Sprecher and his wife Katherina nee Schelske (?) Gottlieb died in Leipzig on 26 Apr 1846 at age 58. His place of birth shows as Lorenzdorf, Prussia His wife Katherina died 3 Apr 1843 in Leipzig. Her place of birth shows as Poland. Her age at death was 50. < check other Schelke settlers who came from Poland, for a placename... > On 2 Mar 1834 Gottlieb and Katherina < at age 41 > still had a son, Jakob... As an aside Friedrich married the first time at age 20, to a gal of 17... She died a month after childbirth, when she was a mere 18 ... Her name was Christina Buss, she was from Kulm(?) My educated guess is that her ancestry was also in Poland. Hope this helps... 3. Hi Curt, Friedrich Gerbershagen/Gerwershagen married 28.04.1853 Louise Rung, they had 5 children born 1854-1866 in Neunassau. Then they moved to Neu Danzig, two more children were born there: Friedrich *09.10.1868 and Karolina *02.11.1871. Do have this familiy in your Neu Danzig list and perhaps further data? 3. Every so often , while roots rooting, one finds a "pearl"... The genealogical digs are full of lil pitfalls... transcription and spelling errors being foremost.. and then we have the good old stand-by, typos... The best one i have found recently < chucklewise > being: Kleinlickental Russia PS I will have to dig again, to see where it was i found that lil pearl!

    3. Judy! It's super U are sending this information via the list. I think that is generally the best way, as often, one way or another, the information becomes useful to others also. I have often received one-on-one responses from people... but feel that a broader purpose is served when the discussion can and is held in the public forum. I do in fact have the Alexanderhilf census, unfortunately it's in Nova Scotia, where i will be in a couple of weeks < again > ;) But if Rene' will send me a reminder, i will endeavor to look up the info, unless someone else comes along now of course who has that information... I will post a seperate message about look-ups, for this has reminded me that we should probably do an "inventory"... as things always change... I see U must have had 4 grandparents... ;) But on a more serious note, does this mean U are interested in ALL names for each of the villages below? And what of Neu-Hoffnungstal, which i believe was "related somewhat" to Hoffnungstal? By the way, have U ever seen any connections to Hoffnungstal (Alt-deutsch: Hoffnungsthal) in Germany???
