    1. [GERmanRUSsian] Fotos and letter
    2. Peter & Nancy
    3. Hi everyone, I've been out of the loop for a few months so perhaps you've all seen these already. I found them to be very interesting. Photos of German Russian villages and people circa 1942: http://andreaskeller.net/default.htm A newspaper article: It`s out of a newspaper called "Ost-Express" from the time 16.-29.05.2001: Verwehte Spuren Franz Illenseer sammelt Erinnerungen über sein Heimatdorf Ich heißeFranz Illenseer und bin 1933 im ukrainischen Dorf Marjewka, Gebiet Dnepropetrowsk, geboren. 3. Definately more information in the "Village Accounts" than in published obits. I do recall < working from memory > that often in the , i think, Kirchbote obits it was hard to tell where the person actual "softly slept in"... It may also have been in the messages that appeared in the "Volk auf dem Weg".[VadW] Of course those are fairly recent. < NONE pre-WW-II >. The GRHS centre in Bismarck has a large collection of obits on hand from all sorts of sources. Including these Kirchbote and VadW obits. They are sorted / kept by family name. Worthwhile researching! I'm sure ASHGR in Lincoln also has plenty of Obits.
