    2. ÷j.
    3. I believe you may find that you are dealing with Mennonites here. Although there were also GR here who didn't manage to get to NorthAmerica directly , but went via SouthAmerica first. However Mennonites moved in rather large groups: an article by Edward Reimer Brandt in the Fall 1993 ASHGR Journal has a good review of Mennonite Migrations. We're getting a bit off base though here, as this isn't really a direct GENEALOGY subject. Season's Greetings to all! ;j. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, December 31, 2001 5:59 PM Subject: [GERmanRUSsian] G-R's to South America > Dear LIsters, > > Does anyone know when the immgration began for G-R's to South America? 2. Dear LIsters, Does anyone know when the immgration began for G-R's to South America? The reason I am asking is that I ran across a couple on the 1920 U.S. Federal Census for Russell County, Kansas that have there Place of Birth listed as Argentina. They further have that they were born there in 1866 and 1868 respectively. I was just curious. Gene Jenkins Selah, WA.

My missing link to the Moser family might be solved if I can find a census during this time period. If anyone has any leads on where I might find a copy, if it exists, I would be appreciative. 3. Hi all; I am hoping that maybe someone out there who are doing Alberta Obituaries from the Sherwood Park/Edmonton area, may have picked up a copy of "Ben Lauinger" Obituary. It would have run in the newspaper either the end of November or sometime at the beginning of December. Sorry I dont have a date or anything, I learned this by word of month from a friend in Saskatchewan. Ben was the son of Paul Lauinger and Magdalena Schmidt. Ben would have been born some time after 1923. He would have been born in Saskatchewan, probably around Unity, somewhere. His wife's first new was Lena, and I am unsure as to how many children they had. 7 siblings, one brother living in Wetaskwin AB. Religion: Catholic. Does the Edmonton Journal do searches, like the Calgary Herald...for a fee of course? Any help would be wonderful and very helpful. :-) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Kelly Mitchell Kelly M.
