    1. Re: [GERMANNA] in Regards To Keeping English Alive
    2. Dear Mr. Camper: Would you please look at your message copied below? In haste to chastise, we often commit more mistakes than the one being we wise to chastise. There is no verb in the first phrase. If there are " " , then what is inside must be exactly as what is supposedly being quoted. When the entire sentence is not quoted, it takes .... [4 .]. This includes the terminal period. "Lets" should be Let's. There is no terminal punctuation after "alive". Did you want a period or exclamation point. That is five errors used in an attempt to correct only one in the message attempting to be corrected. I was flunked on the Junior English exam at the University of Arkansas. Two errors required another course at the Junior level in nothing by English grammar. It was the toughest course in college, but I am certainly glad I had to take it. If not, I probably would still be correcting my dissertation. I guess, not as I began the program in 1970 and had only to 1977 to complete the program. Yours truly, Cary P.S. I am sure I have committed errors as my eyes are still smarted from an injection into the macula. Also, it has been about 15 years since I last taught a grammar course in 7th and 8th grades. So, if I have erred, it was in good faith. Please forgive me. Cary ---- "R. Camper" <jrcamper@earthlink.net> wrote: "If it my husband and I..." Lets try to keep English alive J. R. Camper
