I had my brother do a dna for my Mason line. I have documented back to Isham B. Mason bn 1775-76, died 1840 in Culpeper, VA but have reached a dead end. His son, Robert C. Mason married Frances Smith, daughter of Asa Smith and Barbara Yager of Madison Co., VA. (I descend from Adam Yager) My question is: There has not been one person with Mason surname that has showed up in the 12 marker or the 25 marker or the 36 marker results. I was told that no one from my dna line has possibly tested yet. I was wondering can your dna be messed up in any way? Thankyou for any assistance... Sally Standley
Sally, have you uploaded the results to ySearch yet? marsha Moses Sent from my iPhone On Dec 19, 2008, at 3:38 PM, "Sali" <eagledove77@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > I had my brother do a dna for my Mason line. Sally, I had my uncle, Charles Allen, tested also- not Germanna. I came back with 38 12 marker matches and 1 off by one for 25 markers and 2 off by 2 for 25 markers. None of them are Allens. His haplogroup was J2 which supposedly is not found a lot in the US. There have been over 300 Allen families tested. I was told the same thing- wait untiil an Allen shows up to be tested and shows a J2 haplogroup. 37 marker showed no matches.
